Shohin College Iciness Seminar recap – Bonsai Tonight

A few weeks ago, Andrew Robson and I hosted the fundamental Shohin College seminar at the Milwaukie Center in Milwaukie, Oregon.

The 2-day event targeted on shohin demonstrate (Saturday) and pattern (Sunday). Our special guest for the weekend changed into shohin professional Daisaku Nomoto from Miyazaki, Japan.

Between periods, participants shopped from vendors Vicki Chamberlain, John Eads, Mary Lai, Nao Tokutake, Andrew Robson, Daisaku Nomoto, and Indian Bonsai Art work.

The day wrapped up with dinner and drinks at local meals truck emporium Nook 14.

Sunday’s center of attention changed into on recognizing and creating nice shohin bonsai. The morning featured an evaluate exercise whereby participants scored bushes and realized what characteristics to predict in assorted species.

After lunch, Andrew and I offered pointers for shohin care and pattern and reviewed suggestions for constructing a shohin sequence. The seminar ended with a carry-your-bear tree workshop.

Participant suggestions has been definite and Andrew, Daisaku, and I had an astonishing time – so powerful so that we’re planning on doing it any other time next January (predict the Shohin College online page for minute print)!
