How I go About Repotting a Very Large Oak
That’s a seriously beautiful oak specimen. A very nice glimpse into how the repotting of a very large oak is done. WOW love it !..I’m tryin some Oak yamadori projects this year…I thought they were quite a good size…. Until now.. Damn..Peter keep raising the bar. What a Beaut !
I don’t know why but Oaks always give me this reverence feeling. And you guys were able to transport this feeling into bonsai form, Respect!
Well what am i showing you in this video not as packing those parcels but we are repotting a tree and this is what we call serious repotting [Music] reporter using a digger improving the nibari [Music] [Music] i think that’s all we need to do [Music] i think we can use the same old soil it’s not too bad jack can you take them up and lock that one up for me can you see that one so it’s not too pot-bound it’s lots of fibrous roots and we will use the same soil again i guess [Music] okay so if have you got a little shovel or something [Music] what about those black uh black pellets no they’ve all got marker pots on them there’s padlock resident hippie let’s bring it a bit nearer put the uh i don’t want to talk now so that i don’t spit mud on there is it worth dragging the sheet with the mud on it i’ll go first then there’ll be lots of room okay so we didn’t take a lot of root off that’s all the route we’ve got out from the trees and the roots are pretty good so we just put a bit of salt little more jackfruit mounded a bit mounted in the center okay that’s better a little more okay now we can move the tree over jack oh steve you’re gonna operate the thing okay [Music] [Music] okay [Music] it’s going to want to go that way [Music] nice fibrous root it could go back a shape still can you move it tightly yes okay [Music] so [Music] [Music] okay she’s quite good how come we ended with so much extra so that’s why the round bucket was very big it came in a round uh i think barrel wasn’t it yeah it was um [Music] i think maybe easier to lift the parrot with the strap what do you think steve i can lay money that somebody would say you didn’t die all right do it all over again i’ve got a pump truck just behind you on that thing okay let’s clear this all up maybe a bit too fast a foot forward a little more little more a little more a serious reporting repotting using a digger [Music] you
