The Bonsai that survived Hiroshima

This legend went viral on the accumulate, but it undoubtedly’s undeniably appropriate. The Yamaki family, residing in Hiroshima, styled and cared for this tree for five generations.

This Japanese white pine used to be saved within the Yamaki nursery in Hiroshima, when on August 6, 1945, the bomb used to be dropped – killing over 100.000 other folks straight. But the tree somehow survived, and used to be later donated to the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. on the event of the American Bicentennial in 1976.
